There is a lot of information about Eco Friendly Products all around us. When I first started really thinking about living more eco friendly I must say, I was overwhelmed. I pondered the idea of how to go about becoming more aware of how I was living. My first step was a baby one. I started by recycling household trash. I was so proud that I was making a difference. That was about 5 years ago and I thought thats good I'm doing my share. Then as I started to educate myself on what all this green & ecofriendly stuff was about, I thought I'm kidding myself, I'm really doing squat about this. Now what, I set a plan for making little changes in my lifestyle.

Examples:

I was more aware of how things were packaged when I shopped like avoiding as much plastic as possible.
Buying fresh fruits & veggies not canned (taking season into consideration)
I stopped the daily delivery of the newspaper (saved a few trees read the news on my computer)
Eliminated bottled water. (Bought everyone their own container for on the go)
Started a clothing exchange at my church (great recylcing bring clothes in and take clothes out...great for little ones clothing they never wear it out)
I started to donate to our local Wilderness Center. They sponsor a plant a tree program which I used for Memorials, Baptisms, Births instead of or along with gifts.

Will you get the idea I just started by being more aware of the choices I was making. I have come along over the last 5 yrs. One of the really great sources I started reading was at National Geographic's site http://www.thegreenguide.com/.

There are many souces on the web and like all things some are good and some not so good.

I have signed up for many alerts regarding eco topics. The more you learn the more aware you become of what is happening around us. This is why 2 friends and I started selling Eco Friendly products and why our theme is "One Step at a Time". It is really overwhelming if you don't break it down into small changes. Times have changed even in the short time when I was started selling at Ebay several months ago. Yes the Economy is struggling. Traffic was very low on every selling site on the the Internet. However here is where the slow traffic puts a new spin with a positive out look on listing your items with out all the insertion fee's. The Final Value fee's are low enough you don't have to price your items to cover all of those high cost to list and then sell your item.
Customers are allowed to enter your booth and feel like they have entered a real store.
Many of us create our store as if we are decorating our home to make others feel welcomed to come in and browse. We have ways of tagging items we see that are cool or well priced along with many other options. This is away for others to visit and take notice of some of the great items that people have in their booths. You can also leave endorsements for others. This is a great way to plug and compliment other sellers on their booths. We have a great discussion boards where people can leave comments and or post questions or post new information they have come across that could help other's. Bonanzle has many counters in place to let us know when new people have joined Bonanzle and they count the amount of people who have been to your booth, they also keep a log of who tags what item in your booth and how many times. So traffic is coming and if you haven't joined Bonanzle you should be a part of some thing real. Hello ALL,
I really love the holiday season. I can be a kid again!! At my age that is difficult to achieve.

The holidays are coming soon!!! I have wondered about alternative gifting. Homemade gifts, wrapping, re-gifting, reuseable bags, the list goes on forever. Our landfills are overflowing and the holidays are a prime time for contributing more trash. Packing by toy manufacturers is amazing. The amount of time it takes to open gifts layer by layer seems to get worse each year.
I am on a little rant today, maybe because I realized the holiday season is upon us.
